Scribes inducted in statistics

The German Development Cooperation (GIZ) and Statistics South Africa say the media and business need to work together to ensure that statistics take centre stage for the betterment of African countries.

Addressing a press conference in Gaborone on Wednesday, GIZ and Statistics SA student representative Steven Kapoloma said journalists who understood how statisticians compiled their information could raise more relevant questions about issues concerning their countries.

The press conference was called to draw the attention of journalists to the importance of understanding and using statistics in their reportage.
