Product Quality Assurance Vital, SMEs Told

The Botswana Bureau of standards (BOBS) has urged Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to consider assuring the quality of their products and services as this has a number of benefits.

BOBS said quality assurance will in a few years to come be looked at upon issuance of tenders. However, Tshepo Katse, from Quality Assurance unit, cautioned businesses not to seek quality assurance only when they have tenders to attend to, as this has to be done in order to build customer confidence.

Speaking at the Standard Chartered Bank SMEs' trade workshop on Friday, Katse said customer confidence is essential in any business as it leads to enhanced product or service marketability.
