Local retailer Pick n Pay Botswana has taken a significant step into the country’s growing digital economy with the launch of its first on-demand online delivery service, in partnership with local tech start-up Wanzy.

Announced in Gaborone last week, the service is set to roll out in phases, beginning with liquor deliveries from four Pick n Pay Liquor stores in the capital.

Under the offering, customers can expect orders to arrive within an hour, with grocery delivery expected to be introduced in the coming months as the platform expands, officials said.
