Mupane Mine appoints new boss

FRANCISTOWN: The country's sole gold miner, Mupane has said it has failed to find a suitable local to become its general manager. The company's chief financial officer, Nicolas Brodie, told Mmegi Business yesterday that they have therefore decided to appoint an expatriate to the post.

"Our advertisement for the general manager position unfortunately did not attract any suitably qualified and well experienced local candidate. "We have since offered this position to Wayne Hatton-Jones. Wayne is a South African and has a wealth of experience in gold mining at general manager level in numerous countries.

"He is also a qualified metallurgist and has 28 years' experience in gold mining," Brodie said.
