The Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Kenneth Matambo, left Gaborone yesterday to attend the 49th Annual Meeting of the African Development Bank and the 40th Annual Meeting of the African Development Fund.

Events during the meetings will include, among others, seminars, workshops and other side events related to the theme. The meetings will take place from today to Friday May 23, 2014 in Kigali, Rwanda. Senior government officials accompanied the minister. The theme of this year is “The Next 50 Years – The Africa We Want.” During the annual meetings, the African Development Bank Group will also celebrate 50 years of the Bank’s contribution to the development of Africa. The minister and his delegation are expected back on the 25th May 2014.
