FRANCISTOWN: The Francistown Lions Club recently hosted a changeover dinner at Thapama Lodge here where it bestowed the prestigious Melvin Jones Award on the former Speaker of the National Assembly, Patrick Balopi.

Francistown Lions Club member Dr Veera Sayana said the Lions Club International encourages giving opportunities to young lions in order for the organisation to have more innovative ideas to serve the community better, which is also emphasised by the club's motto, To Serve.

The changeover dinner was an occasion to hold elections for a new leadership. Sayana said it is important for all lions to bring in new service-minded, good quality members for the organisation to have more hands to serve the community better as a team.
