Lazare Kaplan to be de-listed from NYSE

Lazare Kaplan International (LKI), which has a diamond cutting and polishing subsidiary in Botswana, will be de-listed from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) following its failure to file required financial statements, the company says.

LKI's clash with NYSE started in September 2009 when the company failed to file financial statements for its fiscal year ended May 31, 2009 and subsequently also for the first three quarters of 2010.

The missed deadlines came as a result of LKI's inability to resolve "material uncertainties" regarding the collectability and recovery of certain assets and the company's potential obligations under certain lines of credit and guaranty.
