It's business practice, says Makgato-Malesu

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dorcas Makgato-Malesu, has said it is right and proper for businesses to charge for quotations as it is an acceptable business practice.

She said that companies incur costs in the form of stationery and time taken when issuing quotations makes it appropriate for traders to charge for this service so that they recoup costs incurred.

She said charges currently range from P10 to about P50 based on a market survey her ministry did. "The charges depend on the type and size of quotation," she said last Thursday.The minister said that through such arrangements Batswana would start realising that the dictum that "time is money" is in fact true.
