DTCB braces for Diamond Jewellery Design Awards

Last year, five Batswana designers, out of the 145 initial entrants, emerged victorious in the awards, having submitted the diamond jewellery designs and
impressed the judges. Katja Nilsson was crowned the overall winner with a stunning 18 carat white and red gold neckpiece set with 674 round brilliant cut diamonds weighing 24.95carats.
Yesterday, DTCB External Communications Manager, Tebogo Moribame-Setiko said an even larger number of entrants was expected for this year's competition, given the high interest generated by the inaugural event. Moribame-Setiko said this year's launch would be held at Thapong Visual Art Centre, as part of efforts to target a larger pool of artists.
