Chamber of Mines comes of age

After 12 years of existence, the Botswana Chamber of Mines (BCM) has come of age with the launch of a secretariat, offices and plans for aggressive industry and publicity activities going forward.

Yesterday, the Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, Ponatshego Kedikilwe, officially opened BCM offices and praised the resilience of various industry captains who have steered the organisation since 1998.

From its beginnings as a roundtable of mining managers, BCM today boasts a chief executive officer and a membership of ten operating mines, six prospecting companies and four associates.
