At the helm: Pheko

The Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTCL) has brought in industry veteran, Thari Pheko to chair its board of directors, replacing Lorato Boakgomo-Ntakhwana who has retired after seven years in the organisation.

Pheko, who has been a non-executive director at BTCL since 2018, was appointed interim chair last Tuesday to replace Boakgomo-Ntakhwana.

Pheko was the founding CEO of the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA), having led its predecessor, the Botswana Telecommunications Authority (BTA) for six years before its dissolution in 2013.

Also leaving the BTCL board this week was prominent businessman, Maclean Letshwiti, who had served as a non-executive director for the past seven years.
