BTCL launches satellite internet solutions

Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTCL) has launched a mobile service that will be used to transmit and receive data signal through a satellite to cater for businesses operating in remote, temporal and emergency areas.

Dubbed Mobile V-SAT, the solution will be focused precisely on reaching consumers with specific needs and wants. It will cater for government employees residing in remote areas including; the military, police, disaster recovery aid, mines, Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME) in terms of tourism or any application that requires a broadband Internet connection at a remote location.

Speaking at the launch, BTC chief executive officer, Paul Taylor said this is the ultimate communication solution of choice for businesses operating in remote, temporal and emergency areas.
