The Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) says the country “made P207 million” between 2021 and 2024 from the Meetings Incentives Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) strategy, a phrasing that has raised questions about whether the policy reaped dividends or not.

Speaking during a budget review hosted by First National Bank Botswana (FNBB), BTO Business Development Officer, Lopang Shato, said the country made P207 million coupled with a 59% increase in local conferencing capacity in the country.
