BOCCIM signs MOU with Ministry to purge redtape

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the ministry and the Botswana Confederation of Commerce, Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM) is just a formal way of cementing a cordial relationship that has always existed between them, the Minister of Trade an Industry, Dorcas Makgato-Malesu, has said.

The minister was speaking at the MoU signing that was held in Gaborone on Thursday.

She said the MoU would, among other things, help eliminate the red tape that BOCCIM, like other private sector organisations, face in their daily operations, as they would now be regarded cooperating partners. Makgato-Malesu also said the relationship would help in fulfilling the Ministry of Trade and Information's (MTI's) economic diversification drive mandate.
