BEDIA wants Brazilian investors in beef industry

Brazilian companies have been invited to have an input in the diversification of Botswana's beef industry through promoting leatherworks and upholsteries.

This comes amid concerns over whether Botswana beef will be re-admitted to the EU after being suspended for falling below stringent standards of the lucrative market last March.

Addressing a Brazilian business delegation at BEDIA headquarters in Gaborone on Tuesday, Acting CEO Lameck Nthekela also asked Brazilian investors to partner with Batswana to establish glass and chemical industries, given Botswana's abundant glass manufacturing materials like salt, silicon and limestone.
