BDC subsidiary to Explore Regional market

Ramotswa-based manufacturers of various fruit juice flavours and bottled water, Golden Fruit 97, will soon expand its market into the SADC region, Mmegi has learnt.

The 100-percent locally-owned entity is a subsidiary of the Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) and has already penetrated the South African market after striking a deal with the Choppies group, which has outlets in the neighbouring economic powerhouse.

Speaking at the presentation of BOBS ISO 90001:2008 to Golden Fruit 97 at GICC last week, the company's Managing Director, Boyd Luwe, said access to the South African market added to Zimbabwe and Zambia. "We hope to later on sell our product through other outlets in that country (South Africa)," Luwe said.
