Accounting students in the country have been urged to keep updating their skills through training in order to understand the developments going on in the world of accountancy.

The president of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), Nicky Fisher made the call during the achievement ceremony held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) last Thursday evening. The event was aimed at celebrating the achievements of individuals studying qualifications in Botswana, who have reached special landmarks in their AAT career over the past year. Fisher said with an ever-changing world, it is essential for the students to keep their skills up-to-date, in order to reach their full potential and enrich their career. “I know how much hard work our students around the world put into their studies, and professional membership of AAT not only recognises their achievements, but also provides the framework for their future continuing professional development,” said Fisher.

A total of 250 AAT member successes were recognised during the ceremony, which attracted over 400 guests. “I feel very privileged to have attended the AAT Botswana achievement ceremony and thrilled to have been able to join our members in celebrating their success,” Fisher said.
