4G technology can help govt improve services � Mabeo

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Tshenolo Mabeo has urged government to take advantage of the Fourth Generation (4G) technology in order to enhance its services. He was speaking at the launch of the Orange 4G technology last week.

Mabeo said the new technology could benefit the e-government, e-health and e-education programmes and the nation, adding that telemedicine could help save many lives as mostly specialist doctors are based in urban areas.

“The introduction of 4G with its faster internet and more universal access is also timely in that it fits together with the Government of Botswana’s e- Government strategy, which is currently being implemented,” he said.
