What looked like a flop turned into a night to remember as revellers celebrated Botswana's 45 years of freedom at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) last Friday.

Dubbed Botswana Independence Freedom Bash, freedom lived in all aspects; sassy women in stilettos and thigh-length dresses added colour and flavour from 22:30 hours until late.

Slated for 7pm the show started on a low note, as the venue was empty at that time. The early birds wore scornful faces as they kept on nullifying the event and called it a flop. One after the other, party lovers took to their seats. Some in pairs, holding wine glasses and sipping away happily - with some doing it more skilfully than the others.
