The seventh season of My Star, the annual television singing competition, made its last stop of auditions in Gaborone on Saturday at Gaborone Technical College.

Gaborone attracted more than 100 hopefuls and quite a good crowd of loyal spectators despite a P40 entry fee for audience members and P200 for those auditioning. This year's much anticipated show took its auditions to a number of places to give those far from Gaborone a chance.  However, it seems a lot preferred the capital city, as by mid-day on Saturday, 136 hopefuls had already registered.

This was triple the number registered in other places where auditions were held, Palapye, Selebi Phikwe, Francistown, Lobatse and Maun. After the Gaborone auditions, the My Star Top 20 would be selected next week to battle for a P100,000 cheque, a scholarship and a recording contract.
