Ugandan music producer and engineer Robert Dagirira, known in Botswana's music scene as Dargie, has said he wants to get a Botswana citizenship.

Dargie, who was accused of conning a host of artists in 2005, said this would help him work better in the country, as people would not easily take advantage of him.

Dargie owns a studio in Gaborone - Dargie Digital Studios - where a lot of Botswana's successful artists have recorded and are still recording.  In 2005 he suddenly disappeared from the country to Uganda leaving a trail of artists claiming that he owed them. He returned in 2007 and challenged all the artists who claimed he owed them to come forward but none of them did.
