Da G snaps up Botswana talent

United States of America-based disc jockey and music producer Godwill 'Da G' Daniel has taken Botswana's budding Hip hop talents Neo 'Shanay' Maruatona and Pako 'Bonekurs' Mere under his wing.

The duo is now working with Daniel's Dallas-based recording company, Dagee Records. The rappers sent mixtapes to the Dallas-based DJ three months ago and he was impressed, which is for this reason that they have entered into an agreement. Under the new arrangement, the artists receive beats produced in America and then record with Daniel's Gaborone-based affiliate, Sbale Molebatsi. The material is then sent to the US for editing, mixing and mastering.

  "I actually send the songs to Europe for mastering where they are mastered at Partyman Mastering. The beats they used were produced here (US) by me, all I do is to send them the beats,"he told Showbiz.
