A night of music as Masiela trust raises over P400, 000

Jazz maestro Lister Boleseng, Letshego Choir and Botswana Defence Force (BDF) were in full force at the seventh annual Masiela Trust Fund-raising gala dinner at Ditshupo Hall on Friday night, as individuals and stakeholders came in numbers to support a charitable cause.

Armed with their saxophones, the two bands started the evening well by leading the diners in the singing of the National Anthem. The crowd in the jam-packed venue went crazy as the band took the audience down memory lane with old songs.  The band had a great stage presence as they delivered some  music from the likes of Mafikizolo. Their constant support for good causes, and top-notch performances seemed to command much respect from the audience.

It was heart-warming to see the two bands dishing out a stream of good musical pieces between speeches in a night organised to perfection.Meanwhile, the dinner, which was co-sponsored by Gabz FM, garnered close to P300, 000 from pledges and auctions as the BDF band kept the audience serenaded. Cresta Group of Companies, who have been the constant supporter of Masiela Trust Fund, pledged P200, 000, First National Bank of Botswana (FNBB) P40, 000, AT&T Monnakgotla contributed P12, 000 which would be paid to the Trust in P1, 000 instalments for a year.
