PALAPYE: Councillors here have expressed worry over payments delays for constituency tournaments by the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture (MYSC) saying this leads to low morale and kills youth talent.

They expressed their concerns at the ongoing Palapye Sub District Council meeting following a report by Palapye deputy district commissioner, Ernest Phiri. The civic leaders said sport is one of the activities that should be taken seriously since it can contribute to the country’s economy as well as alleviate poverty amongst the youth.

They said delays in payments of those that did their best during the tournaments might kill the players morale. They would not feel the need to continue partaking in sports activities since their talent is disregarded.
