South Africa: 'Prophet of Doom' sentenced

Lethebo Rabalago was offered the option of a four-year jail term or paying a P21,000 rand after being found guilty of assault and contravening the Agricultural Stock Remedies Act.
The 25-year-old has agreed to pay the fine off in 3,000 rand monthly installments, the Sowetan newspaper reports.
Acting Agriculture Minister, Edwin Dikoloti, is right in saying opening an export-ready facility whilst Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is still spreading would risk getting the whole country blacklisted before a single carcass leaves the door.A ban like that would break the already stressed nation.
