What to do with Gaborone Dam

It is official, Gaborone Dam will not fill up in the next decade or two. Perhaps the dam will fill up after 30 years, after global warming, or whatever this weather is about has calmed down. It is obvious, the stubborn dam needs global cooling to fill up.

There will never be enough rainfall to fill the dam anymore during our lifetime. To compound the problem, some individuals are reported to have built backyard dams along streams that are tributaries to the dam. They now enjoy watching the water from their balconies whilst the nation is thirsty and in panic mode. Damn!

Backyard this and backyard that, now look what we have put ourselves into.  We have to be careful how we use words in public. In fact, we need a national Pitso on the use of words and the impact a careless use of such words can have on society. A few years ago we were told of some Ds, and how they should guide this nation. All of a sudden, our children are getting Ds in schools and they are allowed to break through to higher schools.  We have crossed roads with our ancestors, and we have betrayed them. Where ever they are, they were confident that D means failure. Finish and klaar!
