“Rome wasn't built in a day,” coach Daniel ‘Chico’ Nare echoes the famous quote in his quest to take back Mochudi Centre Chiefs to its glory days. Nare has come under fire at Chiefs in the last few weeks after a string of unpleasant results.

‘Chico’ was given the head coach's role at Magosi in late December with Chiefs in the promotional spot then. Chico had a delightful Chiefs’ debut with a 1-0 win over Young Stars.

It quickly went sour between Magosi faithful and Nare as the coach had a squad overhaul in the January transfer window. More than 10 players, including favourite, Galabgwe Moyana left the team and ‘Chico’ brought several recruits including former Premier League top goal-scorer, Kekaetswe ‘Mara’ Moloi, former Security Systems hard man, Omphile Sebolai and attacker, Tebogelo Malebogo.
