The chief executive officer (CEO) for Botswana Fooball League (BFL), Billy Sekgoroane has been fired.

In a statement, BFL chairman, Sipho Showa informed club chairpersons that the board had reached a mutual agreement with the CEO to end his service. "He will serve one month notice effective Tuesday 23, December 2025 to ensure smooth transition," the statement reads.

Sekgoroane was appointed CEO in August 2025, taking over from Bernet Mamelodi to bring commercial expertise. However, by December 2025, some shareholders were already expressing dissatisfaction with his performance, citing alleged tardiness and lack of commitment, despite his strong corporate background.
