Township Rollers have disclosed that their newly launched partnership with Italian sportswear manufacturer Diadora is worth P20 million over five years, making it one of the biggest technical sponsorship deals in local football.

The club officially unveiled the partnership on Tuesday and Popa’s secretary-general Ofentse Mosekiemang has now revealed that the agreement is valued at P4 million per season and includes monthly financial support and merchandise revenue for the 16-time champions. "Diadora will not only assist us with the kits, but also the travelling equipment and regalia and also financial assistance. The value of the Diadora deal is P4 million per season for five seasons, which means it is a total of P20 million for the entire duration," he told MmegiSport. Mosekiemang said the partnership also guarantees the club a monthly cash injection of P40,000, whilst Rollers will earn commission from the sale of official Diadora merchandise. "Every month, Diadora will give us P40,000 and also the club will benefit commission from every sale in a month," he said.

The revelation comes at a crucial time for the Blues, who are preparing for life after Sunbet Botswana confirmed it will not renew its sponsorship agreement when the current deal expires on July 31. Mosekiemang said although Rollers are yet to identify Sunbet's successor, negotiations with prospective sponsors and investors are progressing well. "Currently, we have not stated who would join us as a premier sponsor since the contract with Sunbet Botswana ends on July 31. We would like to respect the contract until its conclusion. But we are in talks with potential partners, and we are yet to agree on anything since we have a running contract with Sunbet," he said. “However, we are hopeful that we will find someone to become our title sponsor, and the potential investors are very promising.
