Setso Mothibi of Orapa Karate Club won kumite gold and kata silver in the Girls Cadets

The annual Women's Self Defence tournament that was held over the weekend turned into a platform for skill and perfection, dominated by Orapa Club. The side walked away with 10 gold, seven silver and eight bronze medals. Police Club finished second with three gold medals, 11 silver and 11 bronze.

Speaking to Sport Monitor, Orapa coach Keabetswe Puke revealed that they did not prepare much for the tournament as they had grading the weekend before the event.

"We only had a week to prepare for the tournament. My athletes delivered more than I expected. I knew we were going to win some medals, but not to dominate the way we did. My target was six or seven gold medals," Puke said.
