FRANCISTOWN: Organisers of the annual Orapa Classic Cycling Challenge scheduled for August 7 have said they intend to raise P1 million from the event.

The event is organised by the Orapa Cycling Club and its chairperson, Moagi Sewawa told Mmegi Sport that funds raised from this year’s event will be devoted towards buying cycling equipment for the club’s youth categories from the ages of 14-23.

Orapa Cycling Club has 11 members in the youth category. Sewawa said the money raised from the event will also be channelled towards other initiatives meant to attract more youth within Boteti to join the club. “The emphasis of this year’s event is on the development of the youth in cycling around Boteti.
