Ntshwarang finally gets award nomination

From his base at Lobatse Sports Complex to being the national team head coach at the 2024 Paris Olympics and 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Chilume ‘Chippa’ Ntshwarang keeps producing some of the top track stars in the country. As such, his job has finally caught the eyes of powers that be following his nomination for the 45th Botswana Sports Awards’ coach of the year category.

He made history when his athlete, Busang Collen Kebinatshipi clinched the men’s 400m world title and also powered the men’s 4x00m relays team to become world champions.

Ntshwarang has been nominated alongside Phenyo Matong (tennis) and Tapaphiwa Tracy Gaebolae of women’s football Under-23 team. He told Sport Monitor that he was excited about the nomination and it serves as a motivation to even do even do better.
