Botswana men's cricket side went agonisingly close to securing a place in the finals of the 2027 T20 World Cup Africa qualifiers, but were thwarted by a heart-breaking two run defeat to Rwanda on Saturday.

It has been a gripping week of cricket as seven nations battled for two spots at the Africa regional finals following the conclusion of the Sub-regional Qualifier A held in Gaborone.

Rwanda and Kenya booked their places, with Botswana narrowly missing out.
