Mochudi Centre Chiefs' new project is swiftly taking shape with the club announcing Pontsho Moloi as its head coach, whilst former Zebras teammate, Sekhana Koko is now assistant.
There has been talk of a massive rebuild at Chiefs following a takeover by new management last week. South Africa's Stanton Fredericks Sports Group is now in charge of the Kgatleng giants after signing a 15-year-long deal. The club has overhauled the technical team previously led by caretaker coach, Seemo Mpatane. In a quick turn of events, Moloi quit Gaborone United at the weekend and the following day he was at the VTM Arena to watch his new charges secure a 1-0 victory over Nico United.
Last evening Chiefs, through a statement, confirmed Moloi's appointment, whilst Koko, who had been holding fort, dropped to the assistant's role. "Mochudi Centre Chiefs is pleased to announce the appointment of Pontsho Moloi as the new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year contract. A revered club legend, Pontsho Moloi brings a wealth of experience, dedication and a deep understanding of the club's culture and values," the statement reads.
