FRANCISTOWN: With one game left before the curtain falls on this season's First Division North league, Calendar Stars are focused on finishing second to guarantee a spot in the promotional playoffs.

With 36 points, Calendars Stars are presently in second place on the log, lagging behind the newly crowned champions, Santa Green, who have 40 points.

Calendar Stars' fate in the promotional play-offs will be decided by the crucial game against BR Highlanders, who are presently in fourth place with 34 points. Calendar Star coach, Joseph Chippa stated that they will give it their all in order to advance to the playoffs. He was also pleased that they now secured three points this past weekend against Tshikinyega Tigers given that the game had been quite closed in the first half.

Chippa also said they changed in the second half which bore fruits. He stated that the players had received adequate training for the free-kick strategies they will employ to score additional goals. He urged supporters to come and show support for the team in the last game against BR Highlanders.


Meanwhile, Tshikenyega Tigers coach, Kebby Tshitego said that they played a good game despite failing to come out with a win. He stated that because of their well-thought-out strategy, the first half finished in a 0-0 draw.
