In vain: Botswana netball team failed to progress in the qualifiers PIC: BONA

When Botswana Netball Association (BONA) appointed South African coach, Martha Mosoahle-Samm in 2025, she was given the mandate to guide the senior team to qualification for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney.

Unfortunately, that objective has not materialised after Botswana lost two matches and won one during the recent Africa qualifiers in Nairobi. However, some netball commentators believe the coach cannot be held accountable for the failure and argue that she should have been allowed to conduct her own selection.

BONA president, Mpopi Moatlhodi, told MmegiSport that the results they achieved in Nairobi were not what they wanted.
