Botswana Softball Association (BSA) has been urged to adopt the latest format of baseball which is gaining popularity.

The newly introduced Baseball 5 is a five-on-five, five-inning street version of the game of baseball and softball that can be played anywhere. World Baseball Softball Confederation Africa secretary-general, Francis Njeru Karugu told Mmegi Sport that Baseball 5 is the best for Africa and it has the potential to grow.

He said Baseball 5 does not need any equipment and it is cheap. “BSA has not taken up Baseball 5 and neighbouring countries such as South Africa and Zambia have introduced the sport.
