Botswana softball team feels robbed

Botswana Softball Association (BSA) spokesperson, Pako Maforaga told Mmegi Online this evening that the team feels the rules were not properly applied when a decision was made to cancel the game before the final against South Africa was played this evening. “Rules are rules, they should be applied, if it was not Botswana complaining maybe another country could have done the same. When the weather is a challenge, a decision like this one is taken,” he said.
Maforaga said the Local Organization Committee (LOC) and BSA approved Tebogo Vincent Maonge from South Africa, as the tournament director and he did his best to make sure that the tournament was a success. Maonge told Mmegi Sport that he took a decision to call the tournament off due bad weather. However, in more positive news Botswana booked a spot at the intercontinental group stages by finishing in second position. South Africa emerged the champions after winning all their matches. Botswana lost three games that they played against South Africa.
