MAUN: With just a few days before the global spotlight turns to Botswana, President Duma Boko has raised concern over the underwhelming build-up to the World Athletics Relays 2026, urging stakeholders to urgently “take the event to the people” and ignite national excitement. “Let us all go out and be there to witness this beautiful spectacle of sport,” Boko told the gathering. “Let us support the athletes and make our country the best and proudest host.”

Botswana will welcome some of the world’s finest track athletes, including record holders and rising stars.
