The Botswana Football Association says it is still waiting for CAF's response following a request to move the game between the Zebras and Egypt to an evening kick-off.

The BFA's request came after reports that the Zebras have faced travel challenges in Mauritania and will arrive tomorrow around 9am, only six hours before the scheduled 3pm kick-off time. BFA chief executive officer, Mfolo Mfolo told Mmegi Sport that they have requested for the game to be played in the evening. "We have requested and it is promising," Mfolo briefly said. If the request is granted, the game is expected to kick-off at 9pm. The Zebras started their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a 1-0 loss to Mauritania but now face a mammoth task to collect full points against revitalised Egypt. The Pharaohs are already in the country and will be better rested than their hosts.
