The Botswana Football Association (BFA) has postponed the start of this season's Orange FA Cup.

The Orange FA Cup was supposed to kick off on Friday with the round of 48 matches. Today, the BFA wrote to clubs informing them the cup games have been postponed indefinitely. "This serves to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances, the Orange FA Cup Season 5 matches scheduled for the week ending 19th and 21st of January 2024 have been postponed to a date to be announced.

A new schedule covering all the remaining stages of the tournament will be communicated in due course," a statement from BFA reads. The postponement of the cup games comes amid a crippling leadership wrangle within the Botswana Premier League. As a result, league matches were also put on hold.
