The Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) has included some of the committee's harshest critics in key positions for 2026 assignments. The mother body's committee has faced criticism over its handling of athletics affairs, with the board surviving a motion of no confidence at the last Special General Assembly called in November.

One of those who spearheaded the motion of no confidence, Keabetswe Friday, has been appointed team manager for the team that will compete at the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) to be held in May in Ghana.

He will be assisted by Queen Marape, whilst the head coach is Meleko Ndolo, with Kemiso Manyepedza and Abednico Sechaba coming in as his assistants.
