Zone VI volleyball competition postponed

The Zone VI volleyball competition scheduled for later this month has been postponed indefinitely after Mozambique withdrew as hosts.

Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) vice president, George Keotsene said they were informed over the weekend that Mozambique will no longer host the competition. He said Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) did not go into details why the Southern African country could not host. CAVB has since opened bids for member countries interested in hosting the event. The deadline for bid submission is May 12, stating that the competition should be held by July 31.

Botswana was among the countries that had shown interest in the initial bid and Keotsene said they would meet this afternoon to consider their position. Keotsene said Mozambique's failure to host was unfortunate and that it has affected their plans.
