Zebras, Uganda friendly confirmed

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) has confirmed that the friendly match between the Zebras against Uganda will be played on Sunday.

The Zebras are currently in Potchefstroom High Performance Centre (HPC) in South Africa where they are fine-tuning their preparations for the upcoming 2013 AFCON qualifier first leg match against Mali on September 8. BFA marketing and communications officer, Phakamile Kraii confirmed to Mmegi Sport yesterday that Uganda is expected in the country tomorrow (Friday) to prepare for the match that will be played at Molepolole. The Zebras are also expected to return home tomorrow ready to face the Uganda Cranes.

Ticket prices for the match were to be finalised before the end of business yesterday. Uganda is currently ranked eight places above Botswana in the FIFA and CAF rankings at 88 and 22 in the world and Africa respectively while Botswana is at 112th and 30th. Only local based players will be available for selection for the match as it falls outside the FIFA dates. Meanwhile, the BFA will host a four-nations Under-20 tournament featuring Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and Swaziland at the Molepolole Sports Complex. The tournament starts tomorrow and will continue until Sunday. Entrance is free.
