A 59-year-old was found hanging in a store room at his relatives' residence in Tlokweng. Tlokweng Police Station Commander, Unoziba Rari, said the deceased originally resides at Block 9 in Gaborone, and he had visited his relatives on May 8.

"It appears the man tragically took his own life," he said. "Our investigation is ongoing to understand the circumstances surrounding this incident," he added. Rari told MmegiOnline that the man's relatives assumed he had returned home after his visit. However, their hopes were shattered when they found him lifeless in the store room.

"After his visit, his family say they believed he had returned home. Unfortunately, they discovered him deceased in the storeroom," the Station Commander added. Moreover, Rari expressed his condolences to the family and emphasised the importance of mental health awareness. He urged anyone experiencing mental health challenges to seek counselling and support.

In his statement, Rari highlighted the need for communities to come together to address mental health issues and provide assistance to those in need. "If you're experiencing mental health challenges, it's important to seek counselling and support. Addressing these issues and providing assistance to those in need requires communities to come together and unite," he advised.
