The Zebras will travel to Harare, Zimbabwe, on February 6 to play the Warriors in an international friendly match, the Botswana Football Association (BFA) has confirmed. Zebras coach, Stanley Tshosane had told Mmegi Sport last week that the Warriors friendly was in the pipeline.

BFA acting chief executive officer, Tariq Babitseng said the Zebras will travel to Zimbabwe on February 6, which is a FIFA international date. The match will be played at Rufaro Stadium as the national side prepares for a World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia in March. "As I have said before, we will try and support the coach. At the moment I cannot tell you whether the team will play another friendly or not before the Ethiopia match. We are meeting on Friday to discuss the calendar of events," Babitseng said.

Tshosane has in the past decried the few international friendlies before crucial assignments while the BFA has maintained that lack of finance is hindering smooth preparations. The coach is likely to have a full arsenal of foreign-based players as the date falls under the FIFA calendar. Zimbabwe will also use the match to prepare for their tough encounter against former African champions, Egypt.
