The Zebras, doomed a week ago in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, are now alive and kicking after Ethiopia admitted to using an ineligible player.

The BBC quoted Ethiopia Football Federation president, Sahilu Gebremariam admitting that his country used Minyahil Teshome Beyene when he was supposed to be serving suspension against Botswana on June 8."We are not going to appeal, it's a management blunder. We have accepted the FIFA discipline issue," Gebremariam was quoted as saying.

The EFF vice president, Berhanu Kebede reportedly said it was all his blunder as he had received communication from CAF not to field Beyene as he was serving suspension. "I recall receiving the communiqu having a clear message about Minyahel Teshome. But I don't know how things went wrong.I'm so sad. I created one of the gravest mistakes of my life. Will take that to the grave with me," Kebede said. The Zebras are now certain of three points and 3-0 score line win over Ethiopia. This will take the Zebras to seven points, just three adrift of the horn of Africa country.
