Youngster wins Barclays Golf Open

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Young Shane Granger (junior) upset a strong field of 56 players to win the Barclays Bank Golf Open tournament at the Selebi-Phikwe Golf Club on Saturday.

The tournament was played on a rain drenched course and drew participants from across the country.

Pitted against favourites like Shane Granger (senior) and Benjamin Mutuli, the rising golf star amassed 42 points to relegated Noah Majube to second spot with 40 points. Another Granger sibling, Clifford was third with 38 points ahead of Linda Chimbwete with 38 points. Chris Masole came fifth with 37 points.
