Wrestling association seeks BNSC affiliation

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Newly registered Botswana Wrestling Entertainment Association (BWEA), is seeking affiliation to the Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC).

BWEA founder member, Moagi Sharp said they are seeking affiliation in order to effectively run the association. He said once BWEA gets affiliation, it will run its affairs efficiently and get funding from the BNSC. Sharp stated that even though they want to be a BNSC affiliate, they do not have a professional coach or qualified instructor.

"We have asked for donations from clubs in America in the form of used equipment," he explained. He said at the moment, the association is relying on textbooks to learn the sport but some members will soon be trained abroad as instructors. He said there are at least 200 registered members countrywide.
