Women's rugby coach happy with cup preparations

National women's rugby team coach, Shaun Lees, has said that he is impressed with the level of his charges' preparedness ahead of the October 29-30 Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) South/East African Championship.

Botswana is hosting the tournament that is expected to attract a total of eight African nations.Speaking to Mmegi Sport yesterday, Lees said that the team is ready for battle. He said the team has been able to reach an impressive fitness level.

In an earlier interview Lees had highlighted that the team lacked endurance but the situation has since changed."The team was one of the fittest teams in the CAR Castle Cup that was held in Zambia this past August," he said.Lees said they would now concentrate on improving the teams' visualization and focus. He said his charges still have a problem with consistency during games. "The team is unable to begin a game with the required intensity and only snap in later," he said adding that the team also loses focus because of silly mistakes.
